On a warm day in February 1998, Scott and Trudy opened their little healing centre in Woori-Yallock, a small incidental country town in Victoria's Yarra Valley. Circle of Stones Healing Lodge attracted a loyal cluster of customers who were interested in the different healing modalities and meditation classes the centre had to offer. But, it was Scott's readings and workshops and the thrill of having an esoteric shop in the Valley that sold spiritual books and crystals that really put their business on the map.
And as is the way when something is 'right', Circle of Stones soon outgrew the little cottage it was born into. Circle of Stones was growing up, and everything had to change.
So, barely two years later, Circle of Stones Healing Lodge became known as simply, Circle of Stones (a retail store) and moved to Main Street Warburton, a town celebrated for its healing energies, the crystal-laden Yarra River, the snow-capped Mt Donna Buang and its population of natural therapists, healers, psychics and teachers. It was while the pair worked their shop (which quickly became a destination of choice for many of the tourists that flock to Warburton each year) that Scott wrote his best-selling book, ANIMAL DREAMING, and the seed was planted; a seed that would see the work that Scott and Trudy were meant to do grow into a strong, powerful, enduring Oak Tree.
After selling Circle of Stones nearly ten years later, Scott and Trudy moved their family north to the beautiful Byron Bay area where they, once again, have opened a retail shop that, like Circle of Stones, continues the tradition of offering its patrons not only a beautiful range of hand-dug Madagascan crystals, spiritual books, incense and local art, but also the workshops and readings based on Scott's books (of which now there are several), philosophy and nature-based spiritual approach to life that helped brand the name 'Animal Dreaming' and anchor it as the company of high integrity, spiritual truth, honesty and grounding.
So, welcome to the next chapter. Welcome to Animal Dreaming Byron Bay, the next level of Animal Dreaming and the new home of Scott's work: the new shop, the new look, the new books, the new events, retreats and workshops, the new circle of friends, the new healing modalities, services and experiences. And most importantly, welcome to a new and exciting world of unity, healing and shamanic understanding that encompasses everything Animal Dreaming represents.
And to celebrate the next stage of Animal Dreaming's growth, we are celebrating a total overhaul; a total facelift that will see the site become more interactive, modern and 'green'. It's so exciting!
