Koonjewarre is only 40 minutes drive from the Gold Coast and 90 minutes from Brisbane in the heartland of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area. Unique flora and fauna attract naturalists from around the world. Visitors relax and enjoy our own walking tracks and lookout or explore those in the National Park. It’s a paradise-on-earth for bird-watchers and nature lovers alike. Pademelons (small members of the kangaroo family) abound at dawn and dusk. Imposing cliffs, stunning waterfalls, unparalleled views of the World Heritage Area. Springbrook Plateau is part of an ancient extinct shield volcano, centred on Mt. Warning which covered 400 square kilometres over 20 million years.
Accommodation:
Retreat Participants will be offered the very comfortable ‘FAMILY UNITS’. While the units are SHARED ACCOMMODATION, Each unit contains 8 double bunk formations and private en-suite bathroom facilities. Four of the first floor rooms feature a balcony overlooking the forested vistas beyond.
Meals:
For more than 30 years David (the owner of Koonjewarre) has worked in the hospitality industry in both the U.K. and Australia. His experience extends from location catering in the film industry through to large scale corporate catering, banqueting and conventions. David was also Chef Manager at London's prestigious Dorchester Hotel. David's catering acumen is married to his passion for excellence in all aspects of food creation and he takes particular pleasure in meeting a challenge. David grew up in the U.K., Libya and South-East Asia and has developed a deep understanding and knowledge of the varied cuisines of the world. As a result of David’s experience he offers a variety of food choices, guaranteeing a delicious experience with every meal. (All meals are supplied)
